Join us - from London to Edinburgh - along the great North Road... 400 years, 400 miles and 400 stories!
When Jonson came north in 1618 he walked all the way from Bishopsgate in London to the Mercat Cross on Edinburgh’s High Street.
In 2018 we’ll be marking the 400th anniversary of this escapade, one of the most distinctive feats ever undertaken by a poet laureate!
So we’ll be aiming to mark that anniversary by taking our Tales for Travellers all along the route of the great north road that Jonson walked.
We’ll be looking for people to partner up with, to make and record a walk with, to bring out the stories of all sorts of different places and share them up and down that road. It’s been 400 years, and 400 miles. We want to bring together 400 stories, new, old, short, long, spoken, written, sung.
